Entries are currently being accepted for the third annual Solutions for the Profession Competition sponsored by the VIN Foundation. Any student currently enrolled in vet school is eligible to enter for a chance to win one of three scholarships: $3,000 for the winner, $1,500 for the runner up, and $1,000 for third place.
The first annual edition of the contest focused on innovative solutions to problems in the veterinary profession (such as student debt, gender inequality, and mental health), while the second contest asked students to share what they wished they had known before applying to vet school. This year, the competition focuses on veterinary practice consolidation and its impact.
Entries should total 1,000 words or less and address all of the following points related to veterinary practice consolidation:
- Please describe the current state of practice consolidation (mergers and acquisitions) in the veterinary profession.
- What are the positive and negative aspects of this consolidation?
- How do you see this affecting you and the profession, now and in the future?
The deadline to submit contest entries using the official online form is January 27, 2019. Winners will be announced at the end of April.
