New Wildlife Enterprise Management Degree Offered at Auburn

Auburn University has announced plans to offer a new degree in Wildlife Enterprise Management for the Fall 2019 semester.  The program is designed to prepare students for careers in hunting, fishing, and related outdoor industries.  Only one other university (Kansas State) offers a degree of this type.

The Wildlife Enterprise Management program will include coursework in wildlife management, conservation, marketing, accounting, hospitality management, and more.  Graduates will also complete the requirements to be awarded minor in a business.  News reports indicated that the school plans to admit approximately 25-30 students per class.

According to the Outdoor Industry Association, the U.S. outdoor recreation industry is growing steadily and currently accounts for more than $887 billion in consumer spending while employing over 7.6 million individuals.
