While many vet schools schedule their open houses in April, you have a chance to visit one this weekend if you live in Louisiana or an adjoining state. The Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine has announced that it will host an open house on Saturday, January 20, 2018. The free event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The open house will include hospital tours, veterinary exhibits, interaction with current students and faculty members, equine and underwater treadmill demonstrations, a petting zoo, animal activities such as a “parade of breeds” for horses and dogs, a teddy bear suturing station, and much more. This can be a great opportunity for prospective students to take a casual look at the vet school, and there will be plenty to occupy younger siblings who may be along for the ride!
The school is also promoting its app which provides a full schedule, map, and other valuable information for attendees. This can be accessed by downloading the CrowdCompass Attendee Hub app, and then searching for LSU SVM.
