The American Veterinary Medical Foundation has announced that applications for several veterinary scholarships will be accepted beginning March 1, 2019. The awards include:
- AVMA/AVMF Scholarship for Veterans:
Four $1,000 scholarships are available to veterans of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy currently in their first three years of veterinary school. - Mildred Sylvester Scholarship:
One $4,000 scholarship is available to a first, second, or third year U.S. veterinary student with a connection to the state of New Jersey (current or past resident). - AVMF/Winn Feline Foundation Scholarship:
One $2,500 scholarship is available to a second or third year student in the U.S. who is has an interest in feline medicine. Applicants must have a history of working for the health and welfare of cats, a strong GPA, and financial need. - Association for Women Veterinarians Foundation:
One $1,500 scholarship is available and open to first, second, and third year students at a U.S. veterinary college. - Dr. Elinor McGrath Scholarship:
One $1,500 scholarship is available to a first, second, or third year student at a U.S. veterinary college.
The last day to submit an application for one of these great scholarships is May 17, 2019. But don’t wait, get started! Applications will be available here on March 1.
