Free Forensic Veterinary Medicine & Animal Crime Scene Investigation Webinar

The AVMA’s Veterinary Career Center will host a free webinar focused on careers in veterinary forensic medicine and animal crime scene investigation.  Dr. Melinda Merck, a leading forensic veterinarian and noted lecturer, will be the featured presenter.  Dr. Merck assists with crime scene investigations involving both live and deceased animal victims, and she developed veterinary forensic courses for the University of Georgia and University of Florida vet schools.

The webinar will be shown live on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 1pm to 2pm EDT.  Registration is available here.  One hour of CE credit is available to those who watch the event live, but it will also be available as a recording afterwards.  Space in the live webinar is limited, so interested participants should not delay their registration, especially if CE credit is desired.

The course will cover career opportunities, day to day duties, details on how these veterinarians assist with animal cruelty cases, and the skills needed to succeed in this field.  If you have an interest in veterinary medicine, forensics, animal cruelty cases, or law enforcement, this course might provide some valuable information on a potential career path.
