By the way, if you are considering a career in pet care you should definitely hop over to the PSI website and take a look at their resources. They offer many perks to their members including educational materials, certification programs, insurance discounts, networking opportunities, and much more.
Take Your Dog to Work Day is a great time to reflect on the various benefits of having pets in the workplace (including reducing stress, increasing employee satisfaction, and reducing employee costs for pet care). A study conducted by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) found that 17 percent of employers identified as “pet friendly workplaces” in a 2008 survey, and that number was only projected to increase. Many major companies including Amazon, Google, and Etsy have policies that allow their employees to bring their pets to work.
